Dirty Kiss (A Cole McGinnis Mystery #1) & Dirty Secret (#2) by Rhys Ford

Dirty Kiss
Cole Kenjiro McGinnis, ex-cop and PI, is trying to get over the shooting death of his lover when a supposedly routine investigation lands in his lap. Investigating the apparent suicide of a prominent Korean businessman's son proves to be anything but ordinary, especially when it introduces Cole to the dead man's handsome cousin, Kim Jae-Min.Jae-Min's cousin had a dirty little secret, the kind that Cole has been familiar with all his life and that Jae-Min is still hiding from his family. The investigation leads Cole from tasteful mansions to seedy lover's trysts to Dirty Kiss, the place where the rich and discreet go to indulge in desires their traditional-minded families would rather know nothing about. It also leads Cole McGinnis into Jae-Min's arms, and that could be a problem. Jae's cousin's death is looking less and less like a suicide, and Jae-Min is looking more and more like a target. Cole has already lost one lover to violence-he's not about to lose Jae-Min too.

I have had this on my to read list for a little while and actually read it a couple of weeks ago, but since I just finished book 2 thought I would review them both together. Anyway I loved this story not only did I learn a lot about Korean culture and families but I got an exciting action packed crime drama and a really cute but intense love story all in one. Cole is PI that has been through some serious and intense emotional situations which I won't go into because I found that really pulled me into this story, when he investigates a suicide/murder for a client of Mike's whose Coles brother he meets Jae. Poor Jae has his own drama but he's a vital part of the story that's told from Cole's POV btw I loved how this mystery unfolds and how it brings Jae & Cole together, but poor Cole the guy is constantly getting shot at or the shit kicked outta him and his made up family Scarlet, Claudia & Bobby plus Jae's crazy cat I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. Very well done  Rhys Ford I couldn't wait to read the second book.

Dirty Secret Sequel to Dirty Kiss

Loving Kim Jae-Min isn’t always easy: Jae is gun-shy about being openly homosexual. Ex-cop turned private investigator Cole McGinnis doesn’t know any other way to be. Still, he understands where Jae is coming from. Traditional Korean men aren’t gay—at least not usually where people can see them.

But Cole can’t spend too much time unraveling his boyfriend’s issues. He has a job to do. When a singer named Scarlet asks him to help find Park Dae-Hoon, a gay Korean man who disappeared nearly two decades ago, Cole finds himself submerged in the tangled world of rich Korean families, where obligation and politics mean sacrificing happiness to preserve corporate empires. Soon the bodies start piling up without rhyme or reason. With every step Cole takes toward locating Park Dae-Hoon, another person meets their demise—and someone Cole loves could be next on the murderer’s list

Now this book it went in directions I hadn't expected but absolutely loved anyway, it's still about a mystery but it has more about the way Jae & Cole are now a couple and living together plus it has  alot to do with their families mostly Coles. I will say I hated Cole's parents mostly his stepmother I think I was more shocked by the things she said than anything and that part of the story was emotional yes but explained alot of Cole's attitude and his thought process, plus it brings Jae & him closer together in a way. Cole is still getting shot at and the shit kicked outta him alot and it's still a action packed exciting thriller that brings his whole "family" together we get more story involving Scarlet (which was fascinating to say the least) Claude (and her kids I loved her story about Marcus it was intense but a well placed heart to heart) Bobby (where the hell is he meeting these guys? Trey & Rocket and OMG the bottle story o_0 ) and let's not forget Mike & and his wife I loved that they stood up for Cole the way they did. Now one little bone to pick why oh why did we get left with such an interesting cliffhanger and when (please tell me it's soon) will we get the next book to this series cause I will freak if that was it LOL I have to say I really did love both books and the stories are so worth reading I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOTH!!!!!

Starfish and Coffee by Kele Moon

Starfish and Coffee

On the island where they first met two lovers from opposite sides of the tracks are reunited. Now jaded and broken, Alex and Matt still can’t deny their sizzling connection or the memories of one perfect, uninhibited year together.

At twenty-two, Matt Tarrington is rich, good-looking and destined to be powerful, but behind that confident exterior lurks a man who resents the life his family thrust upon him. Desperate for an escape, Matt heads to Mirabella Island off the coast of Florida for a year of relaxation and some wild nights with vacationing party-girls.

Matt never expected to find real passion in the arms of Alex Hunter, a handsome, laid-back local.

Alex is gay, but closeted. Matt should be completely off limits, but Alex finds the deeply in denial rich boy too tempting to ignore. Especially when a bet has them working together, fighting the heat in the rundown, beachside cafe where Alex sweats for every dollar.

Their love felt inevitable until youth left them vulnerable to hatred and greed. Now after six years of hating the lies they live, Alex and Matt will have to risk it all for the second chance they both desperately need

                                                                         4.75 STARS

This is an interesting take on how meeting that one person can absolutely change your life. When Matt & Alex meet their both young and impressionable, their both very attracted to each other but they become friends first then lovers. Of course thats when life and families get in the way. Now it's six yrs later and so much needs to be said between them but they can't seem to get that pesky attraction to each other to get out of the way. A lot of this book is flashbacks which tells us the story of how Alex & Matt meet and fall in love but it also tells a story about Alex's brother and also his best friend who have their own story that goes to pot 6yrs ago. It's a very intense emotional love story but it's also a very sweet and beautiful story about growing up and the choices we make along the way. I Recommend

A Reason To Believe by Diana Copland

Unable to explain his vision, or to let go of the investigation, Matthew turns to renowned medium Kiernan Fitzpatrick. Haunted by the lingering spirit of the little girl, Kiernan is compelled to aid in the search for her killer. The chance to get closer to the enigmatic Matt is an unexpected bonus. Although Kiernan's been betrayed by people who turned out to be more interested in his fame than in himself, with Matt he's willing to risk his heart. As the two men grow closer, Kiernan helps Matt rediscover that life offers no guarantees--but love offers a reason to believe...

                                                                            5 STARS

This was a very enjoyable story, and exciting as hell I was on the edge of my seat for most of it. It's based around Christmas but it was also very spooky so it's a perfect read for right now. Detective Matthew gets called out on Christmas day actually in the middle of the night to find a missing little girl it's very reminiscent of a news story that happened a few years ago, during that investigation he sees the little girl and she leads him straight to her body. Of course he's never seen a ghost before he doesn't believe in that sorta stuff, since he lost his own partner/lover  almost 2 yrs before and outed himself in the process, he's already stressed out from losing his love and the cops he works with are not supportive at all. This is his first case after being stuck behind a desk since then and his captain is really homophobic, so after being put on administrative leave for seeing ghosts he talks to his best friend /sister in law which is how he meets Kiernan. I loved Kiernan he's funny, but serious when it comes to being a medium, so the two get together to solve the murder. Which is a high paced action packed thrill ride that was absolutely fascinating it's also a story on how to move on and finding love again. I wouldn't mind reading more about this couple I Highly Recommend.

                                                      5 STARS

Here was another excellent book to read, and a perfect ending to a really damn good series. This couple wormed their way into my heart easily and I couldn't wait for the next book in this series I thought maybe I would feel let down now that it has ended but that's not the case. It really is a perfect ending we have watched Scott & Joe go through so many different emotions and their reactions affected us as well as them, so this final note was just what I had been waiting to see since the first one started this journey. It's a really great love story with a BDSM theme but nothing that made me uncomfortable or squeamish, it's very tastefully written, but it's also a self discovery story as both Scott and Joe make new discoveries about themselves and each other too. I have to say Scott and Joe's story has been one of the most fascinating stories I have read the anticipation of waiting for the next installment was fun and exciting and getting to know this couple made them easy to love. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this entire series, but this was a perfect ending to it.

                                                                            5 + STARS

I have had the privilege to have read some extremely AWESOME books lately, and this one is one of the tops for me. It's a sequel to Tigers & Devils which was about how Simon & Declan meet and became a couple and their trials & issues that they dealt with and worked through, so imagine my joy when I saw we would get to read a continuing of this wonderful couple. Simon is such a fun character because he's not perfect and readily admits his flaws, but doesn't change how he is Loved him! Even his insecurities when it comes to Heyward (I'm with Simon on this I won't call him Greg LOL). Simon's loyalty to Declan is admirable because I personally would have had to have my say to what Heyward starts. Declan is also a really sweet guy I mean you can almost see the love he has for Simon through his actions and words it's really an incredible love story. Usually I like some sex in my favorite stories (makes my inner perv happy) but honestly with this story I never even realized that there wasn't any in it, it's that well written! Not that it's completely pg rated but I honestly never even noticed the details weren't there. Truly this story is that well written!!! I also loved their friends and the couples since they each had their own problems to deal with, and their families were just hilarious the way Simon is with his brother Tim reminded me of me and mine it was just great writing. My favorite part of this entire book was the little getaway that Simon & Declan take when the drama from Heyward becomes to much, I could almost picture where they were it was a beautiful scene to this book. I won't give away the ending but I did feel it was a perfect one for this story. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Here's Some Quick Reviews

I have read some really awesome books lately and being a procrastinator I'm getting behind so I've taken the shorter stories that I have read lately and doing some quick reviews to catch up

HOTEL PENS by Geoffrey Knight  5 STARS Yes this is a shorter story but it had such a beautiful intense emotional love story packed into it. I seriously enjoyed this story I would Highly Recommend

ANGEL AMONG WOLVES: THE INITIATION by Mallorie Griffin 2 STARS I got this as a free read from ARe. It wasn't what I thought it would be from the blurb didn't really work for me

RUN ALGER RUN by Stephani Hecht  4.5 STARS This is from the Wayne county series which is a spinoff of the Lost Shifters series and I really enjoyed it. It's a fun sweet mate story that introduces us to some different kinds of shifters that I can't wait to read about.

SAINTS CURSE:LUKE by Lee Brazil  4.75 STARS This is another mate storyline but I really enjoyed it too it was exciting and fun  I will definitely want to read the second one in this series.

IN ALL YOUR WAYS by Cari Z  4.75 STARS This was another free read I got and was pleasantly surprised I really liked it. A fascinating short story but very intense and well written characters.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING DENNY by Kari Gregg 4 STARS another free read and I liked it would have liked it more if it was a little bit longer would have liked to gotten more back story because the characters were interesting and the plot was intriguing.

BLOOD OF AN ANGEL by Stephani Hecht 4.5 STARS This is one of the Drone Vampire series and it's really good I liked how it ended and how the characters interact with ones from previous books.

                                                                     5+ STARS

This is the sequel to Continental Divide which I loved and have a review back around post #58 (don't know who to add link yet, what can I say self taught computer person here LOL) Anyway since I hate giving to much away about a plot I will say this is not the kind of storyline I usually love and to understand why I say that you'll have to read the book. It's an action packed adventure but it also has some beautiful but intense highly emotional moments that make this also a love story. Where to begin? Jamie & Ryan work together and have for 2 yrs when the previous book ended (you got to remember that part) they've been in a relationship for 1yr or so of that time but Jamie still deep down loves Remy also from previous book and honestly it's best to read that one first I think. Thats where we get how deep and intense Remy & Jamie's feelings run and why their both struggling with the decisions that they need to make now. On top of that they are thrown into a Diamond exchange that modern day pirates are interested in, Jamie & Remy haven't seen or spoken for 2 yrs so imagine their surprise when they see each other on a mini gay cruise with their back ups. Although Jamie & Ryan have a relationship it's rocky at best and Jamie can't get over Remy who has his own problems his "straight" best friend Miggy who we met in the first book not only owns a house and business with Remy they found Toby (also from the first book) got him cleaned up and back in school basically raised him as their son which was such a sweet cute part of this story.  But lately Miggy is thinking he may not be as straight as he thought since he is starting to have desires and feelings for Remy. Are you confused yet? No great because the book is written much better than my explanation is LOL. It's really a fast paced action packed story with this intriguing complex love story between two different couples plus the past love of Jamie & Remy. I found it utterly fascinating and I was so into it that I couldn't put it down til I finished it, my only question is: Is this the end or will their be another? I enjoyed this story so much because it wasn't afraid to ask the seriously difficult  questions and answered them accordingly and LOVED the James Bond references I'm a 007 fan and this story reminded me of that type of story again LOVED it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

The Gravedigger's Brawl by Abigail Roux

The Gravedigger's Brawl
Dr. Wyatt Case is never happier than when he’s walking the halls of his history museum. Playing wingman for his best friend at Gravedigger’s Tavern throws him way out of his comfort zone, but not as much as the eccentric man behind the bar, Ash Lucroix.

Ash is everything Wyatt doesn’t understand: exuberant, quirky, and elbow deep in a Gaslight lifestyle that weaves history into everyday life. He coordinates his suspenders with his tongue rings. Within hours, Wyatt and Ash are hooked.

But strange things are afoot at Gravedigger’s, and after a knock to the head, Ash starts seeing things that can’t be explained by old appliances or faulty wiring. Soon everyone at Gravedigger’s is wondering if they’re seeing ghosts, or just going crazy. The answer to that question could end more than just Wyatt and Ash’s fragile relationship—it might also end their lives

                                                                         4.75 STARS

I had heard all kinds of stories surrounding this book and I can tell you it made it exciting in a way, did anything happen while I was reading it? No the only weird thing was it downloaded twice to my kindle is that spooky nah but it did get noticed LOL. Now I don't normally like spooky stories but this one is written by Abigail Roux so I HAD to read just had to, and it's a really Damn good story I wouldn't recommend reading it at bedtime like I did since I will admit I had some pretty freaky nightmares, woke the next morning and made fun of myself for getting spooked. Dr. Wyatt Case was such a fun character I mean his a historian yet isn't a believer in the paranormal, He's a little shy at first but once he realizes he really wants Ash he pulls out this inner strength that makes him almost feel like a alpha type of guy. Ash was a fascinating guy from the vintage clothes to the flairing to the way he believes in ghosts, I will say Wyatt so didn't help with the the digging into the past of the Gravedigger's Tavern but it worked so well in this story. And as secondary characters I loved Noah & Caleb and wouldn't mind reading their story, they were not only fascinating characters but sexy as hell too. Reading the way Ash gets involved in this plot was effing freaky and I admit scared the bejesus outta me, but it also made it so intriguing that I couldn't put the book down I had to finish it had to see how it ended. And was really surprised by the ending but loved it too, I don't have a tongue ring never wanted one before but now I'm thinking hmmm...maybe o_0 the vibrating one sounds interesting LOL who am I kidding my inner perv really wants one anyway I Highly Recommend but be warned don't read at night or it might just scare the crap outta you like it did me LOL

A Rookie Move by Sam B. Morgan

A Rookie Move
Fifteen years with the Los Angeles Police Department, Mike Graham is a seasoned cop and a damn good training officer. On the brutal streets of LA, he's witnessed every type of crime and taught countless rookies how to survive while they protect and serve. Nothing surprises him anymore. That is, until he meets Nathan York.

Nathan York shouldn't be a cop. With his Beverly Hills background and pretty boy good looks, he's fit for the land of movie stars and nose jobs. Too bad being LAPD is all he's ever wanted. No longer a rookie, he thinks he's ready for anything, even if the next challenge is working with his hard-assed yet magnetic ex-training officer.

Partners on the job, Mike and Nate both struggle with an attraction that has no place in their world. Their explosive chemistry reaches a point it cannot be ignored, but the same chemistry that consumes them could destroy the very thing that binds them together.

                                                                              5 STARS

I have read some really excellent books this past weekend, here's one that was recommended by one of my favorite review sights, I always feel confident that if she gives it a 5 star I'm gonna at least really like it. And I did, I've always been a fan of the tough Cops/Detectives that are gay, yeah I just find them sexy as hell, so that was a plus for this story right off the bat. But I also really enjoyed the characters Mike was that Alpha cop I enjoy reading about and he became such an interesting guy, from hiding his sexuality to falling for his partner, Nathan I just loved not only did he surprise me with his braveness (is that even a word o_0) but that once he knows what he wants he doesn't shy away he goes gungho after it which is Mike. There are some LMAO moments, some serious intense emotional ones and some seriously Hot sexy ones too, a perfect reading experience for me. It's got some angst but not overwhelmingly and the funny sexy moments balance it well so it was an enjoyable read that I'm gonna HIGHLY RECOMMEND

                                                               5 STARS

Have you ever read a book that not only ripped your heart out but decided to heal it too? This book was that for me I have had the worst couple of weeks and was starting to think that all my positive thinking wasn't getting me anywhere, when I think all I needed was a really intense emotional book that let me cry it out and then smile with a lighter heart. I won't lie this book is emotionally draining I honestly went through an entire box of tissues, I didn't just cry I cried like a baby and that's not usually a book I like to read but it isn't written with angst but what feels like everyday life, it takes place over 11 yrs so it's not like Mark's life is riddles with strife just normal heart aches that everybody faces. One of the Main reasons it's so intense is I swear I felt Mark's pain & his joy it was so well written that I could feel his emotions it's like I could see this happening in his life and how it would effect the people around him. This is told from Mark's POV and I loved how I was feeling his hurt over his mom to his anger over Brian to how he wanted to tell his uber religious sister to eff off I got his emotions and easily understood how he could feel the way he does. And it truly is a love story maybe not written as a traditional m/m romance but more with a non fiction feel I'm not saying it's fact or anything it's just the way it felt for me it's not an easy read it is intense but I am so glad I read this one I woke up this morning with puffy red eyes but a lighter heart then I have had for the past month. So I thank you Mr. Webb it's been a joy to read this wonderful book and I truly hope to read more from you. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND but bring a box of tissues with you and never forget your Second Chance maybe right in front of you and it's just waiting for the right time to come your way.

Loathing Leo by Ash Penn

Loathing Leo
Read
didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it (my current rating) it was amazing
Loathing Leo is pure hell. Loving him takes so very little effort, but how can Sam love a man who belongs to someone else?

Following yet another drunken night on the tiles, Sam wakes to the knowledge he’s finally hit rock bottom. He’s lost his dead—end job, his dead—end lover, and the respect of his straight best friend Michael after making a shameful pass at him the night before.

When Michael pushes Sam back into the clutches Leo Hudson, his ex lover, who whisk him away to a house in the middle of nowhere, Sam is left confused and more than a little bit irate at such a betrayal.

What is Michael playing at? He knows Sam doesn’t date closeted men. Or married men. Or fathers. As it turns out, Leo Hudson is all three.

Trapped in an isolated house with the man for the course of a weekend, Sam discovers Leo’s marriage is not all it seems. Until now he’s never given Leo the opportunity to explain himself. After all, how does one explain that a seven—month—long relationship was built on one big fat lie, anyway?

When Sam finds out the truth, he decides he can’t fight the feelings he’s tried to subdue for so long. He and Leo need to say a proper goodbye if he’s to begin his life anew. But will one final night together be enough?

The end of the weekend demands changes for them both. Can Sam make the compromise necessary to keep the man he loves, and will Leo give Sam the recognition he deserves as both partner and lover?

                                                                        4.25 STARS

I bought this book cause it was recommended by another reviewer and she didn't like it much, here's a perfect example of how people can take different things from a book. Now me I loved it, it's an emotional ride but not horribly angsty just slightly, and the age old plot of ask before you jump to conclusions is the main focal point in this story. Sam is a mess plain and simple, but it really is Leo's fault and he's got alot of explaining to do, Sam's character made my heart hurt for him, he's so likable but like I said he's a mess and can't seem to stop this downward spiral he's on. And his best friend Michael (whom I loved instantly) has to help Sam before it's too late, that's when Leo comes into the picture. Now here's where I found it kinda funny Leo kidnaps Sam for the wkend to try and explain himself but to also save Sam from destroying himself, Leo even takes his shoes so Sam won't runaway till he can explain. There's some different scenes that I may have questioned but after finishing the book they made complete sense to me, at first I didn't like Leo but he eventually won me over and I have to say I loved his mom. Anyway I enjoyed this book I recommend.

                                                                   4.5 STARS

Everytime I read a Stormy Glenn book I always leave it with a smile on my face, even though each book's plotline is different I still get plenty of Hot sex, some funny moments and some intense action drama that keeps me glued to my kindle. This story is no different although this one has some exciting action in it it also has some really sweet emotional moments that worked for me. Hugh decides he can't take his controlling father anymore and runs away with his two younger brothers, when he goes to warn another group of brothers before his father can kill them he finds his mate while there. So on the run with these 6 ends up with 4 more that runaway from Hugh's father, they find sanctuary with Stellan from book one (which was another excellent read too) where Hugh & Kye find their third mate Stellan's brother Neumus. Safe to say it's an action packed thrill ride that I sincerely enjoyed reading and can't wait to read the next one in this series. I Recommend

First thing I gotta say about this story is Holy Crap on a Cracker it was HOT!!! I'm talking stop reading so you can go talk a cold shower HOT! and if your like me and don't smoke this story may make you want to start LOL. It's is extremely sexy but it also has an absolutely fascinating story to it too This is book #3 in the Texas Soul series and I Love it. Each story so far has a way of bring each couple into basically what feels like a family, I love that we not only get a new set of MC's but we also get more involved in our previous couples lives and their involvement into each others. I won't lie it has some of the hottest sex scenes I have ever read and that is saying something considering how much I read. But the issues and trama's that each individual MC's has to deal with is intense and sometimes heart wrenching to witness but it just makes that character seem more real to me. No one is perfect we all make mistakes or are all afraid of the choices we make but I love a story that brings that home to me. It is a dramatic scenario but it was well written, I didn't feel the urge to cry the entire book and it had some really funny parts that cracked my ass up. Erick & Sterling were an interesting couple and the focal point in this book but my favorite parts was getting to know more about Gresh, Conner, Lane & Riley as not only couples but as in how they process their feelings for one another.  I hope we continue to get more to this series I feel it is fascinating and exciting. I Highly Recommend!

Warning: Make sure your partner, wife, husband or lover is fully prepared for some intense stress reliving when your done reading this story...or at least you have fresh batteries LOL.

It may be the best—or the worst—business decision they ever made

This was a really sweet adorable love story that I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop so to speak but was pleasantly surprised when it didn't. This story didn't really have much angst which I liked cuz' too much turns me off of a story, It's more of a romance with some miscommunication issues that eventually get worked through. Only issue I had with it was I would have liked to see more of how they came out as a couple, and how their families dealt with it. But I still really enjoyed this story yeah a little sappy but that kinda works for me...I'm a sucker for a HEA...The characters were well written and it felt very natural for them to become a couple, it was also very cute the way they had both been wanting the other while hiding it from each other. Yet when they did become a couple they still kept their work relationship mostly professional, (hehe I said mostly) Like I said it's a very sweet romantic story that left me with a smile. I Recommend

This story had me ROFL most of the time, the rest I spent in a few tears but mostly sighing (in a good way). It's a sweet book on how opposites attract and when we meet that incredible person, the depths we will go to  just to get their attention, and Lord help me the self help book was golden and had me wondering if such books exist o_0. Anyway I liked the characters and the changes they go through...I've always been told you can't change a person no you can't but when your with someone for so long I do believe we all change to an extent...I've been married for almost 20yrs and I am not the same person I was then (I get better with age) Damn inner perv got out again.
Ash's character made the biggest change not because he had to but because he grew up a little, started seeing the bigger picture instead of just living in the now, he was well written and I enjoyed his journey, the way his mind started to think and how he adapted to be more responsible I hope we get Ty's story soon I liked him. Fee I had a few issues with but being a little shy & nerdy myself I couldn't fault him for not being more open that was something his character learns throughout his relationship with Ash and adding in their issues with their own families that tugs at your heartstrings there's some serious emotional drama too. Never the less it's a fun book on how falling love can be a really funny situation, especially if were trying to get someone's attention, it also brings home that you should be yourself not make yourself into someone you think the other person would like. All in all I truly liked this story, it was funny, sexy and sweet. I Recommend.

I have been waiting on another story in the Moon Pack series for awhile, Yes this is one of my top favorite series that I love to read. So far it's as excellent as the previous books, though my favorite couple is still Anthony & Silver with Dare & Steven a close second every couple that has been introduced has had a way about them that worms their way into my heart easily. Ms Kell knows how to take a couple and add in chemistry to where I don't ever feel like it's a quick fall in love, but a sweet sexy romance just in a quicker way, that may seem easy but I've read plenty of books that that is not the case at all. Jager is one of those sweet guys who has an inner strength but even though he is model beautiful he still has insecurities that he learns to not really overcome but more deal with since he finds Ryder who is Dare's brother as his mate. Ryder has his own issues to deal with and I was surprised that we didn't get to see where he talks to Dare about their parents, never the less it's a sweet romance with some excitement and I even get some of my favorite couples thrown in for good measure. I truly loved this series from the very first book Anthony is a character that has stayed with me ever since, and I hope we get more books in this series soon...Though I'm a huge Amber Kell fan so I have read every book that she's put out and will continue to do so....I truly have enjoyed the Moon Pack series there's just something comforting about the characters even though there is action and drama in them the characters leave a lasting impression on you, that's not soon forgotten. How can you tell that? Well it's been at least 5 months since I last read a book in this series and I could easily pick up where it left off without feeling confused or even needing to go back to reread any of the previous books and it didn't feel as though any time had passed. Now if your a big book reader like myself you understand where I'm coming from, if not trust me on this one and go pick it up. I Highly Recommend

Some Quick Reviews for You

Even though life was kinda crazy lately I haven't been on here as much but that doesn't mean I haven't been reading. It's probably the only thing that has kept me sane (or as close to sane as I get) so I've got some short reviews for ya.

DEALING WITH THE DEAD by Toni Griffin  4.75 STARS Now I loved this story, it's so different from anything I have read in a while that I was just fascinated with it, it's a shorter book but it is supposed to be a series SQUEEE! but seriously I truly liked this story and can't wait to read more.

LOVING THE BOSS by Shawn Lane 4 STARS this was a nice short story, which made a great bedtime read not to heavy but still sexy. I enjoyed it

HALLOWEEN HEAT IV by Tara Lain & AC Fox 4 STARS this was another fun bedtime read with a little Halloween sexiness added in there's two different stories in this book but both were really good and enjoyable.

HEART TROUBLE by Josh Lanyon 4.5 STARS Nobody can write like Josh Lanyon, even though it was a short story I was caught up with the first page. Enough said It's a Josh Lanyon book  it's Damn good Enjoy ; )

IN A BLINK OF AN EYE by Kim Dare 4 STARS Another really good short story, I like intense short ones it's like a first cup of coffee rush. I liked

YO HO CHRISTMAS (A PIRATE'S LIFE FOR ME) by Tricia Owens 4 STARS Yeah I really liked this series and here was a bonus Christmas story, Mostly some HOT sex & Fun but as I was already invested in the MC's it was a perfect fit for me.

FORBIDDEN SOUL by Natasha Duncan Drake 4 STARS I read the first book to this series when I got it free off of Amazon, this is the second book to this series and I was just as fascinated. This author came to my attention after the free read and I am so glad I really like the fantasy, sometimes dark twits to her stories. Done bought the third one in this series.

NEW ORLEANS NIGHTS: JEFF'S WAY by Sara York 2  STARS I usually love Sara Yorks stories this one I didn't like so much it has a darker tone to it and left me feeling like I need a fun story  to pull me outta a funk you know? It's a sadder story that didn't work for me.

Enjoy ; ) and Happy reading!!!

Bring Me to Life by Scarlett Parrish

Bring Me to Life
Nathan Stephenson died seventy years ago and he’d like the world – or at least one person – to think he stayed that way.

In 1940s London, Sergeant Nathan Stephenson ignored his rank and the expectation that he’d wait for the war to be over and find a nice girl to settle down with, and took a lover. Not only was Adam Locke unashamed of his homosexuality, he was also proud to be a vampire. Back then, he was certain that his and Nathan’s relationship would last forever, refusing to take no for an answer.

One evening, Adam went too far in his attempts to persuade Nathan to become a vampire and left a mutual acquaintance, Will Bosworth, to deal with the aftermath. What Adam doesn’t know is that Nathan didn’t die – Will brought him back to life, agreeing to keep Nathan’s continued existence a secret.

It’s now the twenty-first century and Will’s back to call in the favour. Nathan’s an honourable man and can’t say no, but the trouble is, wherever Will goes, Adam Locke can’t be far behind...

                                                                    2 STARS

I bought this book based on the blurb, it sounded different and intrigued me I wanted to like this story and but I really didn't like this story (confused yet?). I liked the premise of the storyline 1940's WWII where two guys fell in love one ends up a vamp who turns the other, which it stayed true for a  little bit then I don't know where the fuck it went. The beginning started my confusion I couldn't tell for about 6 pages in if we were in the 40's or if we were in present time, Nathan is very old fashioned even 70 yrs after he's turned, so there was a major turn off for me. I first thought it was a mystery with all the hiding and secrecy only to find out that wasn't the case, Nathan can't forgive Adam so he's almost paranoid of Adam finding him which doesn't make alot of sense since Will & Nathan make sure Adam thinks he killed his lover instead of turning him.  I will say adding Alyssa absolutely didn't work for me, I could see Will's part in it but not her's. Most of this story is told in flashbacks which was ok what I truly didn't get was if Nathan was so afraid of Adam (which I couldn't see why at all) why go see him at all...the guy thinks your dead DUH!.....Their reunion is very violent and extremely untrusting they just had too many issues between them, so how can there be true love from all that? And the ending just pissed me off. I try to be more laid back when it comes to fiction I mean vampires right? I love to be taken away to an exciting story that leaves me wanting to read more this was not that story the plot line sounded awesome but the story just didn't back it up, it left me disappointed.                                                                  5 STARS

I absolutely Loved this book, now I will say it's not your typical love story, there is a love story in it it's just not the main storyline. That being said this is one intense action packed (I mean on the edge of your seat the entire book) I swear if this was a movie I would watch it again & again, it's exciting and sexy and just freaking fascinating. I loved the character of Jon Fox he's sexy, dangerous and deep inside insecure who also has so many issues you kinda think he'll never work through any of them. I also really liked the fact that I truly felt like I was visiting New Orleans, just by the indepth descriptions I could swear to almost being able to smell the swamps, flowers and even the heat no kidding the locations I could easily picture in my mind. There's a wealth of secondary characters that were just as fascinating and of course there's Tucker whom I just loved, this is where the love story comes in yes the sex is scorching HOT! but we get the emotion underlining it, there are issues between both Jon & Tucker but since this is a series (Yes I'm jumping up & down over that) it's a continuing struggle with them. I didn't know what to expect with this book, having read both Geoffrey Knight's book and Ethan Day (which I'm a huge fan of both) this book is the example of perfection from both authors writing styles combined. Since we are left with sort of a cliffhanger (not to say the book doesn't end well it does) I can not wait to read the next one, which I hope is coming out soon. If you want a fast paced action packed read, a love story with some major chemistry between the two main characters added in this is a book you need to read. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

But For You (A Matter of Time #6) by Mary Calmes

But For You (A Matter of Time #6)
Jory Harcourt is finally living the dream. Being married to US Marshal Sam Kage has changed him—it’s settled the tumult of their past and changed Jory from a guy who bails at the first sign of trouble to a man who stays and weathers the storm. He and Sam have two kids, a house in the burbs, and a badass minivan. Jory’s days of being an epicenter for disaster are over. Domestic life is good.

Which means it's exactly the right time for a shakeup on the home front. Sam’s ex turns up in an unexpected place. A hit man climbs up their balcony at a family reunion. And maybe both of those things have something to do with a witness who disappeared a year ago. Marital bliss just got a kick in the pants, but Jory won’t let anyone take his family away from him. Before he knew what it felt like to have a home, he would have run. Not anymore. He knows he and Sam need to handle things together, because that’s the only way they’re going to make it.

                                                                  5 +++++ STARS

After the crappy couple of weeks we have had I gotta say Ms. Calmes  just made it sooo much better. I started reading this last night around 10pm and finished about 4am I just couldn't put it down. Most know that my favorite character of all time is Jory from her A Matter of Time series theres just something that connects for me with this character, could be the way he's written or maybe the way he deals with any issues that come his way but I absolutely adore him. Now some people don't like kids in their romance books but as I am a mom I kinda like it if the kids are not used just for a prop, in this case I LOVED them I swear I have had almost the exact same conversations with my kids that Jory had with his it was like deja vue. LOL

From what I hear this was the last book in this series and it's ending was Surprising but AWESOME, I love strong characters who are written as sweet, sexy and sensitive without being written as doormats or idiots who get pushed around easily. Jory may be small but he is extremely protective of his loved ones and it's true he really is a trouble magnet and DAMN Sam & Jory may be married with kids but Holy Hell their sex scenes were freakin' HOT!!!! Even though Jory's my favorite I really loved the way Sam was in this book he's come a long long way from the way he was in the first one, you can actually feel how much he loves Jory not really in the things he says but in how intensely his actions are written. I loved how informed this book was from the security to even the minivan's features without it seeming boring, but more scene setting and it all comes across as seamless for me.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!! I can't say enough how much I love this entire series and it was a perfect ending to an incredible series. If you haven't read it yet please do I promise you will not be disappointed. And to Ms. Calmes Kudos to you for not only making me a huge fan of yours but for also writing such a great character like Jory that I will not only read again & again but will continue to think about long after.

Life can be Devastating

I know I've been away for awhile somethings have happened in my life that have given me a wakeup call first my mother had a slight heartattack  (which I am thankful it was very slight and can be fixed with some light surgery and medication) then my father in law passed suddenly. Yes my hubby is devastated and his mom is in total shock. As my father in law was a man who never seemed sick a day in his life he would never miss work even though he lived an hour from his work and we get some pretty bad weather sometimes he just wouldn't miss work. I was so surprised by the funeral since it was honestly standing room only, I have learned a few things though you need to prepare even if you hate to talk about these things it really does pay to prepare. I have watched my husband and his mom struggle to not only grieve but handle important issues that a rise after the devastation subsides, simple things like needing to pick up a prescription but can't because of insurance crap. It's a really stressful and sad time but you should seriously plan ahead some anyway, I mean they were together for 50 yrs and instead of thinking about the memories she has to think about how to get new insurance and as she herself has a heart condition and diabetes, my hubby is seriously worried about her but enough of sad things i have read a LOT and I mean A Lot of books this week and will get back to reviewing soon Love you guys Gigi

                                                             3.75 STARS

This story was a like the title says a Tasty Teaser, sexy but fun and very little angst and not a very long story either. When Jim runs across Devon and decides to save the poor guy he never expected to let the little vampire snack on him the start of this story was really funny, with how fast Devon is and how he can't keep from biting Jim like I said it's a very funny story. But diffidently one I enjoyed it's also super sexy too. I recommend

                                                                       4.75 STARS

This is about my third Ethan Day book and I gotta say I just love this author's stories, and no it's not only because their extremely HOT!!(which they are btw it makes my inner perv happy...shrugs) but his stories are..how can I say this..involved yeah that's it. They make me stop to think which pulls me into the characters and their situations or their issues, basically I can easily lose myself in the book, forget everything and just enjoy for awhile. That's one of the reasons I have now add Mr. Day to my gotta buy immediately list, his stories fascinate and intrigue me plus they really are Hot as Hell  ; )

Ok back to this  particular story Cain is a character I immediately connected with and absolutely adored, the issues he is dealing with are pretty intense but he does everything he can to keep a smile on his face so he doesn't disappoint everybody else. He's a sweet guy that life is giving a kick to right now, until he meets Henry and ain't that usually the way it goes everything sucks and then all of a sudden something totally unexpected walks through the door right?  As for Henry I really liked him for the most part I did have issues with..um his issues (o_0) their were times I really wanted to bitch slap him but I'm glad I refrained. Anyway it's a really cute & sweet love story with a fun amount of drama added in so as it's not too angsty but still tugs at your heartstrings. And my god where can I get some hilarious neighbors like in this story it would diffidently perk up my neighborhood LOL  I Highly Recommend

                                                        5 STARS

The more I read of this series the more I want to (well) read more LOL I am absolutely hooked on this intense relationship between Joe & Scott. There have been times in this series that I wanted to smack the hell outta both MC's  but then it wouldn't have been the same awesome story either, I know there is at least one more book in this series, maybe more I'm not sure but I do know that Joe & Scott have stuck out for me and made me think about them even when I'm not reading them right then. That's what I call a fascinating story when days or weeks later I'm still thinking about that character or that couple or that storyline and wondering what's gonna happen next. This series has done that for me, I hate to give to much away I think that takes away some of the fun in reading it yourself so I won't say to much but that so far this one was my favorite book in this series yet. It was Awesome!!! I also find it amazing that such an intense, emotional, sexy story can be told in such short stories by Ms. Dare does it beautifully I Highly Recommend

Body Magic (Triad #2) by Poppy Dennison

Sequel to Mind Magic

                                                                        5 STARS

I loved this sequel to Mind Magic so much, usually most sequels or second books don't live up to the first or they are better than the first one. But this one was just as good as the first book I loved it too I mean it was action packed but still had enough conflict between the MC's to make it exciting and Hot. Body Magic did the same, it was a little more action packed and I still got some story about Gray & Simon which I love btw and we get this really fascinating story about Cade and Rocky both of whom we meet in the first book. Their issues are just as intense as the action/drama storyline but not too angsty, Cade is a sweetheart but tough enforcer/ beta and Gray's best friend who finds himself very attracted to Rocky who is not who he seems (yeah I was surprised by that too) of course these two are extremely HOT together (fans self) but there is also this growing love between them that's just beautiful but these two need to work on their own personal issues with them selves before they can work on a them together which was really fascinating to read. There is so much that goes on in this story that I could have never gotten bored it's a very edge of your seat action packed story but there is also such a sweet but intense romance story in it too. I'm really hoping there's another book coming soon to this awesome series as it has completely captured my interest and I really, really, really wanna read it ; ) I Highly Highly Recommend
