Lovers Entwined by Lillian Francis

Lovers Entwined

REVIEW:
I know I have been away for awhile but while I have read some really good books lately I hadn't read any WOW books lately you know what I mean. Well that was til last night anyway, I actually won this book and Bless Chris' heart had to help me cuz I couldn't figure out how to download it right LOL yeah I really am not a computer person I kinda learn as I go. But anyway first I gotta say the Blurb totally does not do this book justice, it was simply Beautiful. At times it was intense and yeah I cried like you would not believe but you could immediately feel the chemistry between these characters, even the flashbacks were brilliantly written and I think thats one of the hardest ways to tell a story but for this one it truly tells this story and the struggles that each life has went through all in the name of love. It was a beautiful, sometimes tragic, intense EPIC love story. Lovers Entwined had alittle bit of everything thing in it, History, Politics, Contemporary, and even Fantasy. There were times alot of them actually where I wanted to smack Trey but to be true to his character he had to be that way and the guilt that Trey feels is what made me adore him plus the way he loves his grandfather is just icing on the cake. Ewan's character I adored immediately from his introduction, and the dreams this guy endures, how he handles them is amazing, and when he finally breaks just broke my heart not only for him but for the entire situation. I know it may sound confusing but I don't want to give too much away but if you want to read an amazing love story that spans lifetimes this is it. In the beginning of the blurb it mentions that it's not (in my words) alot of sex in it, which is true but it feels like that it is more passionate than worded sex scenes but I swear I never once missed it, there is such passion between these characters that I swear you didn't need it written you could almost feel it. That may not come across the way I meant it too but I truly LOVED this story and will be adding this Author to my to read list. I just can't express how much these characters and the lives that they have lead really touched my heart but I can say I won't be forgetting this story anytime soon and am pretty sure it's gonna become one of my comfort reads even with the intense drama involved.  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND READING THIS ONE

PS. I gotta mention the Pirate's fantasies were HOT!!! LOL

BLURB:
Ewan is one of Boston’s leading genealogy experts. When a would-be bridegroom comes looking for confirmation that there are no skeletons in his ancestral closet, Ewan considers turning the job down. Trey is a jerk of the highest order and yet Ewan experiences an infuriating attraction that’s easy to justify. Trey’s exactly his type—a carbon copy of the man Ewan’s been looking for his entire life.

Harder to explain is the sense of recognition that leaves Ewan speechless the moment Trey steps into his office. Or the stomach-churning sensation at the thought of casting the job aside.

Trey gets more appealing by the day, leaving Ewan struggling with forbidden desire for his client. Desire not helped by strange voyeuristic dreams that have started to haunt his sleep. Dreams that appear to be an echo of the past…

Post Thanksgiving Craziness & A Blog that made a Difference

Ok guys, I know I've been lazy but I promise I have been reading and I have to say I've read some really awesome books lately. The family Thanksgiving was shall we say interesting starting with this is the first time I have ever cooked a turkey and yes it will be my last I will either buy one already finished or delegate the duty next year it was gross that is all I'm gonna say about it and dammit it takes way to long to bake a 20lb turkey, next on my fun list was my know it all sister who decided if you turn up the oven really high it'll bake the rolls faster now my sister is 14 yrs older than me I'm 41 so apparently that is supposed to make her smarter ummmm...not...anyway after almost catching the house on fire and having to push her out of my kitchen to which she spent the entire day pouting about, and of course her husband conveniently decided he needed to go somewhere else so she tried to make everything else that day into a drama...sigh...yeah this is my family there are times I wish I had been adopted that would explain the differences between us. My mom who swears that just about everything will send you to hell luckily settles down to talk with her brother who showed up out of nowhere o_0   there were 35 people that showed up I mean nieces and nephews that I haven't seen in 20yrs showed up...it was ok luckily I like to cook cause we had plenty of food. Then came the lovely drama of my niece whose pregnant with a child that is not her soon to be husbands the husband I adore the boyfriend I can't stand I'm thankful he didn't show. So that was an all around fun experience I could go into all the craziness that ensued but if you have ever watched Christmas Vacation you would swear that we were the Griswolds Yeah its that nutty and of course me, my sarcasm and my glass half full attitude just seems to egg it on LOL  all I can say is bring on Christmas I'm ready for it!!

I will be doing some very quick reviews because I have like 50 books I need to review (I told you I read really fast) so I will be getting to that but I have to comment on a blog I read today Mary Calmes' blog I so got her this morning after my good old fashion fun filled family Thanksgiving I feel as though I can relate then I realized that holy crap on a cracker thats almost my everyday. I have to have a sense of humor because if I didn't then the shit that happens in my life would probably bury me. I mean I have three kids my oldest had scoliosis and had to have severe back surgery but now she is doing great so I'm ok with that my middle son is almost 13 and was finally diagnosed with autism and tourette's and we have had a struggle with getting his home life and school life even close to settled add in the fact that he's going through puberty and just realized what his wee wee is for and I can say it's been an interesting month, my youngest has serve asthma and food allergies like if she even takes a drink of milk I have to get the epi pen...yeah it's bad... but I also try to teach them that everyone on earth has shit to deal with what matters is how we handle any situation we are handed. Now I need to tell you the main reason that Ms. Calmes blog motivated me today see about 2 yrs ago I read a story she wrote and her character really changed the way I view the world...Jory is always optimistic even when his world falls apart I was so inspired by his attitude that I started to adopt it as well. My husband noticed it first see I was raised in an extremely negative family (see above) and was always taught it won't get better but I think maybe I finally grew up or grew a pair maybe. Because I realized if I didn't break this cycle of negativity then it's just gonna trickle down to my kids and become a never ending cycle. So thats what I have done, I want my kids to see that you can do anything if you set your mind to it and be who you are no matter who might not agree. Life is short so make the most of it and smile you just may inspire another to smile too. And Ms. Calmes I wanna thank you again for writing such an inspiring character and to know that you have made a difference in someones life. Okay I will end now since this has gone on for awhile and Authors if you read this please know that when you write your stories they do make a difference Don't give up keep writing and I'll keep reading.

What the hell was I thinking?

What the hell was I thinking? That's what I keep saying to myself this morning...see I have a very hard time saying no when people ask me to do things like this year host the family Thanksgiving dinner now usually its only about 10 of us at this dinner so I said sure why not. I'm a complete dumbass for sure cuz this year there will be at least 25 people if not more here. HUH? ok with me & hubby we have 3 kids all under 15 then we have hubby's mom since hubby's dad passed away last month then we have hubby's creepy brother who is 41 lives at home and is seriously creepy...shudders...add in his elderly aunt and that's it for his side....now onto my nutty family tree...we have my mom whose almost 80 and very religious and has an opinion on everything she's also a hypochondriac I swear if she see's it on the news or one of her brothers has it she swears she does no shit about a year ago she wanted me to call and make her an appointment for the doctor because she thought something was wrong with her prostate. So being the loving daughter that I am sat there completely snicker free as her doc told her she couldn't have a prostate....I am a good daughter ok so I lost it but I mean come on it was just to easy...anyway then we have my much older sister whose 15yrs older than me and her much much older than her husband who can't hear anything you say to him unless your yelling, my alcoholic brother who acts as though he's 16 instead of 51 my cousin and her bunch who I haven't seen for awhile and my pregnant niece now here's where it gets fun my niece's soon to be ex(not the baby's daddy) is also coming along with his dad and my great nephew whom I adore and spoil. Now this is such a strange situation I have no idea how it's gonna work I told my niece she couldn't bring said boyfriend because I really don't like him he's not a good guy he's abusive and won't allow her to be with her 4yr old son now I blame my niece for that but she's apparently  an idiot cuz  nobody could make me not want to be with my kids I don't care if his dick was made of gold...but she has and I've told her that her ex is coming too so this is gonna be fun. Also hubby's creepy brother once dated my niece I swear this is better that a soap opera I post after Thanksgiving and let you know how crazy it gets LOL

Damn you Youtube for being so Distracting

Sorry guys for being away I have been reading but I also got distracted by youtube LOL which you  guys know is soo easy to do. And Dammit if I didn't follow up on a tweet by an Author that I follow and look up Sterek (Yeah you guys know who I'm talking about Don't ya) it's a show on MTV called Teen Wolf now I hate to give away my age but Darn it I actually remember the original movie with Michael J Fox and Jason Bateman in it. Yes I now feel old LOL but anyway I started watching what I believe is slash fiction but I'm not sure of the terminology it's like fan fiction but in video right? well after watching a million video's ok maybe only a couple thousand I feel for this slash couple we got Stiles who I think makes the entire show I love this guy he's so funny then there's Derek the bad ass werewolf. So I had to (my OCD kicked in) go watch the entire 2 seasons in 3 days I gotta admit it pretty damn good and I will be adding it to my TV lineup when season 3 comes out. Youtube is such a great source for finding knew things it's actually how I found gay romance so intriguing and became fascinated with it. I was looking for a drama to the song by Lifehouse Everything and put in Christian and everything and up popped Chrolli whose my absolutely favorite gay soap couple, I watched and honestly it changed my life I not only realized that I was being taught to not accept but that it was wrong. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks but i believe thats wrong it took me almost 40 yrs to grow up and think for myself not what my family or church believed and now I can teach my kids to accept and appreciate the differences in people. I then found m/m fiction and my love for reading just feel into place. of course I won't lie two guys together is Hot as Hell and I totally enjoy watching (Damn inner perv got out again) but guys do it all the time right? so What's wrong with me liking it besides my hubby doesn't mind and he kinda reaps the rewards from it LOL Well I gotta get going but if you haven't checked out the new Teen Wolf do so it was exciting and very entertaining besides there are some totally Hot guys in it which just makes it better LOL I'm off to actually get some of my 200 books on my to read list done Later peeps!

                                                                 4.5 STARS

Book six in the Supernatural Mates series, I had had this in my to read list for a while and honestly must have overlooked it because I never can put off an Amber Kell story so I was surprised to find I had overlooked it but loved it just the same. I know I'm a sucker for series' but I really like to get glimpses of previous characters while getting to know a new one too.  This one was cute since Dillon is a Lion shifter and he's mated to an owl and a tabby cat I found this story fun and exciting all at once so I recommend.

Torched (Hellesgate #1) by Chloe Stow

Torched (Hellesgate, #1)
A house burns on the stark Kansas horizon...

Its flames make a New York businessman abandon the back road in hopes of helping, in hopes of being the hero instead of the villain for once...

His nerve is immediately tested as he witnesses a man run into the inferno. As the New Yorker risks all to save the stranger, his life becomes forever embroiled in both a madman's deadly game of fire and revenge, and a soldier's fight not only to save his family but to save his own soul...

The New Yorker is thirty-two-year-old Matthew Archer. He is a hard man to like, a harder man still to love. Few in the world make an effort at either.

The soldier is twenty-six-year-old Cane Summerfield. He is a hero, a man who gave up his independence to defend his country.

The men are two strong, fierce personalities, from backgrounds as different as heaven and hell. They should never have met, let alone fallen in love... but theirs is a story of Fate riding in on the coattails of sin.

Theirs is a story borne of fire...

                                                                          4.25 STARS

This story had me very confused at the beginning but their was just something about it that had me totally fascinated and I couldn't put it down. Eventually I began to get into this odd couple that took me by surprise, there is some major drama and I mean weird shit drama too, not just relationship stuff although there is that in there too. Matt & Cane are such a strange couple it's definitely an opposites attract kinda story and it's a fast love story too. But I'm so glad I bought it and I didn't realize that there are more in between this one and the one I already bought but I may just read it anyway and pick up the others later I really liked this story even with it's strange moments you can see these two falling in love and I enjoyed that. I recommend

                                                               4 STARS

This book seven in the Moonlight Breed series which I happen to love, the characters may all have their own story but it always makes you feel like it's more about a family of characters. Each one I have read so far has left me smiling and wanting to read more about these intriguing characters, and it's no different with this one Cian we've met in previous books his mate is one of the two twins but he can't tell which one since their always together. Zavion has wanted Cian since they met but didn't think he could get Cian's attention. It's a fun thrill ride to save not only Zavion's life but also his twins. I recommend

Beneath the Surface by Kate Sherwood

Beneath the Surface
When Peter Carr’s company sends him to Southwestern Ontario to sweet-talk the town into agreeing to a gravel quarry proposal, he welcomes the challenge. Technically he’s a lawyer, but really he’s a problemsolver. He just never expected the problem to be Caleb Sinclair, the passionate but introverted artisan carpenter who lives next to the proposed quarry site.

“Know your enemy.” That’s Caleb’s philosophy. And trying to turn fertile farmland into a gravel pit earns Peter the title of “enemy.” Caleb loves that land, and if he has to make peace with his homophobic neighbors to make war on Peter, so be it. Except knowing his enemy doesn’t turn out anything like he expected. Peter’s not the fairy-tale monster—he just might be the first step to happy ever after.

                                                                      4.25 STARS

This is my first book by this author, I gotta say I really liked it and will definitely be reading more. The plotline was very interesting even though you could see the bad guy pretty early on it was still very fascinating. The romance/love story was even more interesting since Peter & Caleb are on opposite sides of this gravel pit debate, you could read the chemistry between the two very easily. I liked how they both tried so hard to keep the gravel pit out of their attraction to each other and how the town that pretty much shunned Caleb when he came out, comes to him for help when push comes to shove. And absolutely loved Caleb's best friend Matt, this was a very interesting story that kept me wanting to see what else would happen next. I recommend

                                                                    3.75 STARS

This was an interesting story,  I will admit it was a little creepy but since it was read around Halloween it kinda worked for me. Daren buys a farmhouse that ends up haunted by Toby, and thats just the start of the freaky shit LOL. Toby's character just broke my heart he went through something horrible and seems to relive it over again & again. Only thing that made me  somewhat squeamish Daren & Toby having sex since Toby's a ghost a little too creepy for me but it did come across as a sweet love story with the mystery of Toby's death being solved really sad too. But the ending was interesting. I recommend

                                                                        4.75 STARS

This is a spin-off of the Lady Blue Crew series by Stormy Glenn & Lynn Hagen which I totally loved, so I was really excited to see these two awesome authors together to write another series. And I was not surprised at how much I truly did like this one since this is the first book in this new series I can't wait for more at first I didn't really like Ryan but once he see's what he has caused I really liked the change in him and Kurt was just so funny and sweet I mean the poor guy has the worst luck of anyone I have every read about maybe that why I just loved him so much. And god the crew is effing nuts but I can't wait to read their stories, and it wasn't just a mate story since Ryan doesn't even know that their mates. It's really an exciting fast paced thrill ride that I'm sure will get even more thrilling with each new book, I Recommend

With an elusive portal and the Umbrae creating a previously unknown creature, hundreds of lives, including Oliver’s, are at stake. Although their attraction hasn’t waned in the intervening years, putting aside their differences creates a potentially fatal distraction and falling in love again might destroy them both.

                                                               4.5 STARS

This was my first book in this series, and honestly I wish I had read those first just to understand the world at little better although the romance/love story could easily be read as a stand alone the action/drama part was a little harder to understand without reading the first two books. I will be  buying those and I do want to read more to this story it's a very fascinating world but I really liked the attention that was taken in getting to know both MC's and what was going through their minds and besides the sex scenes were off the freakin' charts....fans self...I mean holy shit in the elevator...Wow Ok inner perv's done now. Once I got a little more info about the action plot line the characters took center stage Brandon was so adorable trying to hide his hearing aids from everyone including the man who was the cause of the reason for wearing them Oliver and he just cracked me up I swear he was mainly a horn dog through out this book but he becomes so sweet and protective of Brandon once their working the same case. I really enjoyed this relationship and like I said once I am more comfortable with the world I'm sure I will read it again and enjoy it even more. I Recommend

                                                                   4.5 STARS

This is the third book in the Anything Goes series, the other two I had read a while back and really enjoyed so when I saw that Ms. Flynn was gonna write more for this series I was bouncing off walls. I had been waiting for Mick's story since the very first book, I wasn't disappointed either I mean I think it has to be hard to write a character that has been almost destroyed by betrayal and then have them not only learn to heal but to find love again. I liked that even though Mick was a Dom and a powerful Lust Demon he was also fragile in a way and insecure, he carries so much guilt but he also had his heart broken too. Beck has been in love with Mick for years and watched him go through guy after guy while secretly yearning for Mick, so when Mick's life falls apart Beck tries to hold him together. I really enjoyed reading this one and have already bought the next one in this series, I Recommend

Dirty Kiss (A Cole McGinnis Mystery #1) & Dirty Secret (#2) by Rhys Ford

Dirty Kiss
Cole Kenjiro McGinnis, ex-cop and PI, is trying to get over the shooting death of his lover when a supposedly routine investigation lands in his lap. Investigating the apparent suicide of a prominent Korean businessman's son proves to be anything but ordinary, especially when it introduces Cole to the dead man's handsome cousin, Kim Jae-Min.Jae-Min's cousin had a dirty little secret, the kind that Cole has been familiar with all his life and that Jae-Min is still hiding from his family. The investigation leads Cole from tasteful mansions to seedy lover's trysts to Dirty Kiss, the place where the rich and discreet go to indulge in desires their traditional-minded families would rather know nothing about. It also leads Cole McGinnis into Jae-Min's arms, and that could be a problem. Jae's cousin's death is looking less and less like a suicide, and Jae-Min is looking more and more like a target. Cole has already lost one lover to violence-he's not about to lose Jae-Min too.
                                                     5 STARS

I have had this on my to read list for a little while and actually read it a couple of weeks ago, but since I just finished book 2 thought I would review them both together. Anyway I loved this story not only did I learn a lot about Korean culture and families but I got an exciting action packed crime drama and a really cute but intense love story all in one. Cole is PI that has been through some serious and intense emotional situations which I won't go into because I found that really pulled me into this story, when he investigates a suicide/murder for a client of Mike's whose Coles brother he meets Jae. Poor Jae has his own drama but he's a vital part of the story that's told from Cole's POV btw I loved how this mystery unfolds and how it brings Jae & Cole together, but poor Cole the guy is constantly getting shot at or the shit kicked outta him and his made up family Scarlet, Claudia & Bobby plus Jae's crazy cat I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. Very well done  Rhys Ford I couldn't wait to read the second book.

Dirty Secret Sequel to Dirty Kiss

Loving Kim Jae-Min isn’t always easy: Jae is gun-shy about being openly homosexual. Ex-cop turned private investigator Cole McGinnis doesn’t know any other way to be. Still, he understands where Jae is coming from. Traditional Korean men aren’t gay—at least not usually where people can see them.

But Cole can’t spend too much time unraveling his boyfriend’s issues. He has a job to do. When a singer named Scarlet asks him to help find Park Dae-Hoon, a gay Korean man who disappeared nearly two decades ago, Cole finds himself submerged in the tangled world of rich Korean families, where obligation and politics mean sacrificing happiness to preserve corporate empires. Soon the bodies start piling up without rhyme or reason. With every step Cole takes toward locating Park Dae-Hoon, another person meets their demise—and someone Cole loves could be next on the murderer’s list

                                                                    5 STARS

Now this book it went in directions I hadn't expected but absolutely loved anyway, it's still about a mystery but it has more about the way Jae & Cole are now a couple and living together plus it has  alot to do with their families mostly Coles. I will say I hated Cole's parents mostly his stepmother I think I was more shocked by the things she said than anything and that part of the story was emotional yes but explained alot of Cole's attitude and his thought process, plus it brings Jae & him closer together in a way. Cole is still getting shot at and the shit kicked outta him alot and it's still a action packed exciting thriller that brings his whole "family" together we get more story involving Scarlet (which was fascinating to say the least) Claude (and her kids I loved her story about Marcus it was intense but a well placed heart to heart) Bobby (where the hell is he meeting these guys? Trey & Rocket and OMG the bottle story o_0 ) and let's not forget Mike & and his wife I loved that they stood up for Cole the way they did. Now one little bone to pick why oh why did we get left with such an interesting cliffhanger and when (please tell me it's soon) will we get the next book to this series cause I will freak if that was it LOL I have to say I really did love both books and the stories are so worth reading I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOTH!!!!!

Starfish and Coffee by Kele Moon

Starfish and Coffee

On the island where they first met two lovers from opposite sides of the tracks are reunited. Now jaded and broken, Alex and Matt still can’t deny their sizzling connection or the memories of one perfect, uninhibited year together.

At twenty-two, Matt Tarrington is rich, good-looking and destined to be powerful, but behind that confident exterior lurks a man who resents the life his family thrust upon him. Desperate for an escape, Matt heads to Mirabella Island off the coast of Florida for a year of relaxation and some wild nights with vacationing party-girls.

Matt never expected to find real passion in the arms of Alex Hunter, a handsome, laid-back local.

Alex is gay, but closeted. Matt should be completely off limits, but Alex finds the deeply in denial rich boy too tempting to ignore. Especially when a bet has them working together, fighting the heat in the rundown, beachside cafe where Alex sweats for every dollar.

Their love felt inevitable until youth left them vulnerable to hatred and greed. Now after six years of hating the lies they live, Alex and Matt will have to risk it all for the second chance they both desperately need

                                                                         4.75 STARS

This is an interesting take on how meeting that one person can absolutely change your life. When Matt & Alex meet their both young and impressionable, their both very attracted to each other but they become friends first then lovers. Of course thats when life and families get in the way. Now it's six yrs later and so much needs to be said between them but they can't seem to get that pesky attraction to each other to get out of the way. A lot of this book is flashbacks which tells us the story of how Alex & Matt meet and fall in love but it also tells a story about Alex's brother and also his best friend who have their own story that goes to pot 6yrs ago. It's a very intense emotional love story but it's also a very sweet and beautiful story about growing up and the choices we make along the way. I Recommend

This was a very enjoyable story, and exciting as hell I was on the edge of my seat for most of it. It's based around Christmas but it was also very spooky so it's a perfect read for right now. Detective Matthew gets called out on Christmas day actually in the middle of the night to find a missing little girl it's very reminiscent of a news story that happened a few years ago, during that investigation he sees the little girl and she leads him straight to her body. Of course he's never seen a ghost before he doesn't believe in that sorta stuff, since he lost his own partner/lover  almost 2 yrs before and outed himself in the process, he's already stressed out from losing his love and the cops he works with are not supportive at all. This is his first case after being stuck behind a desk since then and his captain is really homophobic, so after being put on administrative leave for seeing ghosts he talks to his best friend /sister in law which is how he meets Kiernan. I loved Kiernan he's funny, but serious when it comes to being a medium, so the two get together to solve the murder. Which is a high paced action packed thrill ride that was absolutely fascinating it's also a story on how to move on and finding love again. I wouldn't mind reading more about this couple I Highly Recommend.

Here was another excellent book to read, and a perfect ending to a really damn good series. This couple wormed their way into my heart easily and I couldn't wait for the next book in this series I thought maybe I would feel let down now that it has ended but that's not the case. It really is a perfect ending we have watched Scott & Joe go through so many different emotions and their reactions affected us as well as them, so this final note was just what I had been waiting to see since the first one started this journey. It's a really great love story with a BDSM theme but nothing that made me uncomfortable or squeamish, it's very tastefully written, but it's also a self discovery story as both Scott and Joe make new discoveries about themselves and each other too. I have to say Scott and Joe's story has been one of the most fascinating stories I have read the anticipation of waiting for the next installment was fun and exciting and getting to know this couple made them easy to love. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this entire series, but this was a perfect ending to it.

I have had the privilege to have read some extremely AWESOME books lately, and this one is one of the tops for me. It's a sequel to Tigers & Devils which was about how Simon & Declan meet and became a couple and their trials & issues that they dealt with and worked through, so imagine my joy when I saw we would get to read a continuing of this wonderful couple. Simon is such a fun character because he's not perfect and readily admits his flaws, but doesn't change how he is Loved him! Even his insecurities when it comes to Heyward (I'm with Simon on this I won't call him Greg LOL). Simon's loyalty to Declan is admirable because I personally would have had to have my say to what Heyward starts. Declan is also a really sweet guy I mean you can almost see the love he has for Simon through his actions and words it's really an incredible love story. Usually I like some sex in my favorite stories (makes my inner perv happy) but honestly with this story I never even realized that there wasn't any in it, it's that well written! Not that it's completely pg rated but I honestly never even noticed the details weren't there. Truly this story is that well written!!! I also loved their friends and the couples since they each had their own problems to deal with, and their families were just hilarious the way Simon is with his brother Tim reminded me of me and mine it was just great writing. My favorite part of this entire book was the little getaway that Simon & Declan take when the drama from Heyward becomes to much, I could almost picture where they were it was a beautiful scene to this book. I won't give away the ending but I did feel it was a perfect one for this story. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Here's Some Quick Reviews

I have read some really awesome books lately and being a procrastinator I'm getting behind so I've taken the shorter stories that I have read lately and doing some quick reviews to catch up

HOTEL PENS by Geoffrey Knight  5 STARS Yes this is a shorter story but it had such a beautiful intense emotional love story packed into it. I seriously enjoyed this story I would Highly Recommend

ANGEL AMONG WOLVES: THE INITIATION by Mallorie Griffin 2 STARS I got this as a free read from ARe. It wasn't what I thought it would be from the blurb didn't really work for me

RUN ALGER RUN by Stephani Hecht  4.5 STARS This is from the Wayne county series which is a spinoff of the Lost Shifters series and I really enjoyed it. It's a fun sweet mate story that introduces us to some different kinds of shifters that I can't wait to read about.

SAINTS CURSE:LUKE by Lee Brazil  4.75 STARS This is another mate storyline but I really enjoyed it too it was exciting and fun  I will definitely want to read the second one in this series.

IN ALL YOUR WAYS by Cari Z  4.75 STARS This was another free read I got and was pleasantly surprised I really liked it. A fascinating short story but very intense and well written characters.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING DENNY by Kari Gregg 4 STARS another free read and I liked it would have liked it more if it was a little bit longer would have liked to gotten more back story because the characters were interesting and the plot was intriguing.

BLOOD OF AN ANGEL by Stephani Hecht 4.5 STARS This is one of the Drone Vampire series and it's really good I liked how it ended and how the characters interact with ones from previous books.

                                                                     5+ STARS

This is the sequel to Continental Divide which I loved and have a review back around post #58 (don't know who to add link yet, what can I say self taught computer person here LOL) Anyway since I hate giving to much away about a plot I will say this is not the kind of storyline I usually love and to understand why I say that you'll have to read the book. It's an action packed adventure but it also has some beautiful but intense highly emotional moments that make this also a love story. Where to begin? Jamie & Ryan work together and have for 2 yrs when the previous book ended (you got to remember that part) they've been in a relationship for 1yr or so of that time but Jamie still deep down loves Remy also from previous book and honestly it's best to read that one first I think. Thats where we get how deep and intense Remy & Jamie's feelings run and why their both struggling with the decisions that they need to make now. On top of that they are thrown into a Diamond exchange that modern day pirates are interested in, Jamie & Remy haven't seen or spoken for 2 yrs so imagine their surprise when they see each other on a mini gay cruise with their back ups. Although Jamie & Ryan have a relationship it's rocky at best and Jamie can't get over Remy who has his own problems his "straight" best friend Miggy who we met in the first book not only owns a house and business with Remy they found Toby (also from the first book) got him cleaned up and back in school basically raised him as their son which was such a sweet cute part of this story.  But lately Miggy is thinking he may not be as straight as he thought since he is starting to have desires and feelings for Remy. Are you confused yet? No great because the book is written much better than my explanation is LOL. It's really a fast paced action packed story with this intriguing complex love story between two different couples plus the past love of Jamie & Remy. I found it utterly fascinating and I was so into it that I couldn't put it down til I finished it, my only question is: Is this the end or will their be another? I enjoyed this story so much because it wasn't afraid to ask the seriously difficult  questions and answered them accordingly and LOVED the James Bond references I'm a 007 fan and this story reminded me of that type of story again LOVED it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

The Gravedigger's Brawl by Abigail Roux

The Gravedigger's Brawl
Dr. Wyatt Case is never happier than when he’s walking the halls of his history museum. Playing wingman for his best friend at Gravedigger’s Tavern throws him way out of his comfort zone, but not as much as the eccentric man behind the bar, Ash Lucroix.

Ash is everything Wyatt doesn’t understand: exuberant, quirky, and elbow deep in a Gaslight lifestyle that weaves history into everyday life. He coordinates his suspenders with his tongue rings. Within hours, Wyatt and Ash are hooked.

But strange things are afoot at Gravedigger’s, and after a knock to the head, Ash starts seeing things that can’t be explained by old appliances or faulty wiring. Soon everyone at Gravedigger’s is wondering if they’re seeing ghosts, or just going crazy. The answer to that question could end more than just Wyatt and Ash’s fragile relationship—it might also end their lives

                                                                         4.75 STARS

I had heard all kinds of stories surrounding this book and I can tell you it made it exciting in a way, did anything happen while I was reading it? No the only weird thing was it downloaded twice to my kindle is that spooky nah but it did get noticed LOL. Now I don't normally like spooky stories but this one is written by Abigail Roux so I HAD to read just had to, and it's a really Damn good story I wouldn't recommend reading it at bedtime like I did since I will admit I had some pretty freaky nightmares, woke the next morning and made fun of myself for getting spooked. Dr. Wyatt Case was such a fun character I mean his a historian yet isn't a believer in the paranormal, He's a little shy at first but once he realizes he really wants Ash he pulls out this inner strength that makes him almost feel like a alpha type of guy. Ash was a fascinating guy from the vintage clothes to the flairing to the way he believes in ghosts, I will say Wyatt so didn't help with the the digging into the past of the Gravedigger's Tavern but it worked so well in this story. And as secondary characters I loved Noah & Caleb and wouldn't mind reading their story, they were not only fascinating characters but sexy as hell too. Reading the way Ash gets involved in this plot was effing freaky and I admit scared the bejesus outta me, but it also made it so intriguing that I couldn't put the book down I had to finish it had to see how it ended. And was really surprised by the ending but loved it too, I don't have a tongue ring never wanted one before but now I'm thinking hmmm...maybe o_0 the vibrating one sounds interesting LOL who am I kidding my inner perv really wants one anyway I Highly Recommend but be warned don't read at night or it might just scare the crap outta you like it did me LOL

A Rookie Move by Sam B. Morgan

A Rookie Move
Fifteen years with the Los Angeles Police Department, Mike Graham is a seasoned cop and a damn good training officer. On the brutal streets of LA, he's witnessed every type of crime and taught countless rookies how to survive while they protect and serve. Nothing surprises him anymore. That is, until he meets Nathan York.

Nathan York shouldn't be a cop. With his Beverly Hills background and pretty boy good looks, he's fit for the land of movie stars and nose jobs. Too bad being LAPD is all he's ever wanted. No longer a rookie, he thinks he's ready for anything, even if the next challenge is working with his hard-assed yet magnetic ex-training officer.

Partners on the job, Mike and Nate both struggle with an attraction that has no place in their world. Their explosive chemistry reaches a point it cannot be ignored, but the same chemistry that consumes them could destroy the very thing that binds them together.

                                                                              5 STARS

I have read some really excellent books this past weekend, here's one that was recommended by one of my favorite review sights, I always feel confident that if she gives it a 5 star I'm gonna at least really like it. And I did, I've always been a fan of the tough Cops/Detectives that are gay, yeah I just find them sexy as hell, so that was a plus for this story right off the bat. But I also really enjoyed the characters Mike was that Alpha cop I enjoy reading about and he became such an interesting guy, from hiding his sexuality to falling for his partner, Nathan I just loved not only did he surprise me with his braveness (is that even a word o_0) but that once he knows what he wants he doesn't shy away he goes gungho after it which is Mike. There are some LMAO moments, some serious intense emotional ones and some seriously Hot sexy ones too, a perfect reading experience for me. It's got some angst but not overwhelmingly and the funny sexy moments balance it well so it was an enjoyable read that I'm gonna HIGHLY RECOMMEND

                                                               5 STARS

Have you ever read a book that not only ripped your heart out but decided to heal it too? This book was that for me I have had the worst couple of weeks and was starting to think that all my positive thinking wasn't getting me anywhere, when I think all I needed was a really intense emotional book that let me cry it out and then smile with a lighter heart. I won't lie this book is emotionally draining I honestly went through an entire box of tissues, I didn't just cry I cried like a baby and that's not usually a book I like to read but it isn't written with angst but what feels like everyday life, it takes place over 11 yrs so it's not like Mark's life is riddles with strife just normal heart aches that everybody faces. One of the Main reasons it's so intense is I swear I felt Mark's pain & his joy it was so well written that I could feel his emotions it's like I could see this happening in his life and how it would effect the people around him. This is told from Mark's POV and I loved how I was feeling his hurt over his mom to his anger over Brian to how he wanted to tell his uber religious sister to eff off I got his emotions and easily understood how he could feel the way he does. And it truly is a love story maybe not written as a traditional m/m romance but more with a non fiction feel I'm not saying it's fact or anything it's just the way it felt for me it's not an easy read it is intense but I am so glad I read this one I woke up this morning with puffy red eyes but a lighter heart then I have had for the past month. So I thank you Mr. Webb it's been a joy to read this wonderful book and I truly hope to read more from you. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND but bring a box of tissues with you and never forget your Second Chance maybe right in front of you and it's just waiting for the right time to come your way.

Loathing Leo by Ash Penn

Loathing Leo
Read
didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it (my current rating) it was amazing
Loathing Leo is pure hell. Loving him takes so very little effort, but how can Sam love a man who belongs to someone else?

Following yet another drunken night on the tiles, Sam wakes to the knowledge he’s finally hit rock bottom. He’s lost his dead—end job, his dead—end lover, and the respect of his straight best friend Michael after making a shameful pass at him the night before.

When Michael pushes Sam back into the clutches Leo Hudson, his ex lover, who whisk him away to a house in the middle of nowhere, Sam is left confused and more than a little bit irate at such a betrayal.

What is Michael playing at? He knows Sam doesn’t date closeted men. Or married men. Or fathers. As it turns out, Leo Hudson is all three.

Trapped in an isolated house with the man for the course of a weekend, Sam discovers Leo’s marriage is not all it seems. Until now he’s never given Leo the opportunity to explain himself. After all, how does one explain that a seven—month—long relationship was built on one big fat lie, anyway?

When Sam finds out the truth, he decides he can’t fight the feelings he’s tried to subdue for so long. He and Leo need to say a proper goodbye if he’s to begin his life anew. But will one final night together be enough?

The end of the weekend demands changes for them both. Can Sam make the compromise necessary to keep the man he loves, and will Leo give Sam the recognition he deserves as both partner and lover?

                                                                        4.25 STARS

I bought this book cause it was recommended by another reviewer and she didn't like it much, here's a perfect example of how people can take different things from a book. Now me I loved it, it's an emotional ride but not horribly angsty just slightly, and the age old plot of ask before you jump to conclusions is the main focal point in this story. Sam is a mess plain and simple, but it really is Leo's fault and he's got alot of explaining to do, Sam's character made my heart hurt for him, he's so likable but like I said he's a mess and can't seem to stop this downward spiral he's on. And his best friend Michael (whom I loved instantly) has to help Sam before it's too late, that's when Leo comes into the picture. Now here's where I found it kinda funny Leo kidnaps Sam for the wkend to try and explain himself but to also save Sam from destroying himself, Leo even takes his shoes so Sam won't runaway till he can explain. There's some different scenes that I may have questioned but after finishing the book they made complete sense to me, at first I didn't like Leo but he eventually won me over and I have to say I loved his mom. Anyway I enjoyed this book I recommend.

                                                                   4.5 STARS

Everytime I read a Stormy Glenn book I always leave it with a smile on my face, even though each book's plotline is different I still get plenty of Hot sex, some funny moments and some intense action drama that keeps me glued to my kindle. This story is no different although this one has some exciting action in it it also has some really sweet emotional moments that worked for me. Hugh decides he can't take his controlling father anymore and runs away with his two younger brothers, when he goes to warn another group of brothers before his father can kill them he finds his mate while there. So on the run with these 6 ends up with 4 more that runaway from Hugh's father, they find sanctuary with Stellan from book one (which was another excellent read too) where Hugh & Kye find their third mate Stellan's brother Neumus. Safe to say it's an action packed thrill ride that I sincerely enjoyed reading and can't wait to read the next one in this series. I Recommend

First thing I gotta say about this story is Holy Crap on a Cracker it was HOT!!! I'm talking stop reading so you can go talk a cold shower HOT! and if your like me and don't smoke this story may make you want to start LOL. It's is extremely sexy but it also has an absolutely fascinating story to it too This is book #3 in the Texas Soul series and I Love it. Each story so far has a way of bring each couple into basically what feels like a family, I love that we not only get a new set of MC's but we also get more involved in our previous couples lives and their involvement into each others. I won't lie it has some of the hottest sex scenes I have ever read and that is saying something considering how much I read. But the issues and trama's that each individual MC's has to deal with is intense and sometimes heart wrenching to witness but it just makes that character seem more real to me. No one is perfect we all make mistakes or are all afraid of the choices we make but I love a story that brings that home to me. It is a dramatic scenario but it was well written, I didn't feel the urge to cry the entire book and it had some really funny parts that cracked my ass up. Erick & Sterling were an interesting couple and the focal point in this book but my favorite parts was getting to know more about Gresh, Conner, Lane & Riley as not only couples but as in how they process their feelings for one another.  I hope we continue to get more to this series I feel it is fascinating and exciting. I Highly Recommend!

Warning: Make sure your partner, wife, husband or lover is fully prepared for some intense stress reliving when your done reading this story...or at least you have fresh batteries LOL.

This was a really sweet adorable love story that I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop so to speak but was pleasantly surprised when it didn't. This story didn't really have much angst which I liked cuz' too much turns me off of a story, It's more of a romance with some miscommunication issues that eventually get worked through. Only issue I had with it was I would have liked to see more of how they came out as a couple, and how their families dealt with it. But I still really enjoyed this story yeah a little sappy but that kinda works for me...I'm a sucker for a HEA...The characters were well written and it felt very natural for them to become a couple, it was also very cute the way they had both been wanting the other while hiding it from each other. Yet when they did become a couple they still kept their work relationship mostly professional, (hehe I said mostly) Like I said it's a very sweet romantic story that left me with a smile. I Recommend

This story had me ROFL most of the time, the rest I spent in a few tears but mostly sighing (in a good way). It's a sweet book on how opposites attract and when we meet that incredible person, the depths we will go to  just to get their attention, and Lord help me the self help book was golden and had me wondering if such books exist o_0. Anyway I liked the characters and the changes they go through...I've always been told you can't change a person no you can't but when your with someone for so long I do believe we all change to an extent...I've been married for almost 20yrs and I am not the same person I was then (I get better with age) Damn inner perv got out again.
Ash's character made the biggest change not because he had to but because he grew up a little, started seeing the bigger picture instead of just living in the now, he was well written and I enjoyed his journey, the way his mind started to think and how he adapted to be more responsible I hope we get Ty's story soon I liked him. Fee I had a few issues with but being a little shy & nerdy myself I couldn't fault him for not being more open that was something his character learns throughout his relationship with Ash and adding in their issues with their own families that tugs at your heartstrings there's some serious emotional drama too. Never the less it's a fun book on how falling love can be a really funny situation, especially if were trying to get someone's attention, it also brings home that you should be yourself not make yourself into someone you think the other person would like. All in all I truly liked this story, it was funny, sexy and sweet. I Recommend.

                                                                           4.75 STARS

I have been waiting on another story in the Moon Pack series for awhile, Yes this is one of my top favorite series that I love to read. So far it's as excellent as the previous books, though my favorite couple is still Anthony & Silver with Dare & Steven a close second every couple that has been introduced has had a way about them that worms their way into my heart easily. Ms Kell knows how to take a couple and add in chemistry to where I don't ever feel like it's a quick fall in love, but a sweet sexy romance just in a quicker way, that may seem easy but I've read plenty of books that that is not the case at all. Jager is one of those sweet guys who has an inner strength but even though he is model beautiful he still has insecurities that he learns to not really overcome but more deal with since he finds Ryder who is Dare's brother as his mate. Ryder has his own issues to deal with and I was surprised that we didn't get to see where he talks to Dare about their parents, never the less it's a sweet romance with some excitement and I even get some of my favorite couples thrown in for good measure. I truly loved this series from the very first book Anthony is a character that has stayed with me ever since, and I hope we get more books in this series soon...Though I'm a huge Amber Kell fan so I have read every book that she's put out and will continue to do so....I truly have enjoyed the Moon Pack series there's just something comforting about the characters even though there is action and drama in them the characters leave a lasting impression on you, that's not soon forgotten. How can you tell that? Well it's been at least 5 months since I last read a book in this series and I could easily pick up where it left off without feeling confused or even needing to go back to reread any of the previous books and it didn't feel as though any time had passed. Now if your a big book reader like myself you understand where I'm coming from, if not trust me on this one and go pick it up. I Highly Recommend

Some Quick Reviews for You

Even though life was kinda crazy lately I haven't been on here as much but that doesn't mean I haven't been reading. It's probably the only thing that has kept me sane (or as close to sane as I get) so I've got some short reviews for ya.

DEALING WITH THE DEAD by Toni Griffin  4.75 STARS Now I loved this story, it's so different from anything I have read in a while that I was just fascinated with it, it's a shorter book but it is supposed to be a series SQUEEE! but seriously I truly liked this story and can't wait to read more.

LOVING THE BOSS by Shawn Lane 4 STARS this was a nice short story, which made a great bedtime read not to heavy but still sexy. I enjoyed it

HALLOWEEN HEAT IV by Tara Lain & AC Fox 4 STARS this was another fun bedtime read with a little Halloween sexiness added in there's two different stories in this book but both were really good and enjoyable.

HEART TROUBLE by Josh Lanyon 4.5 STARS Nobody can write like Josh Lanyon, even though it was a short story I was caught up with the first page. Enough said It's a Josh Lanyon book  it's Damn good Enjoy ; )

IN A BLINK OF AN EYE by Kim Dare 4 STARS Another really good short story, I like intense short ones it's like a first cup of coffee rush. I liked

YO HO CHRISTMAS (A PIRATE'S LIFE FOR ME) by Tricia Owens 4 STARS Yeah I really liked this series and here was a bonus Christmas story, Mostly some HOT sex & Fun but as I was already invested in the MC's it was a perfect fit for me.

FORBIDDEN SOUL by Natasha Duncan Drake 4 STARS I read the first book to this series when I got it free off of Amazon, this is the second book to this series and I was just as fascinated. This author came to my attention after the free read and I am so glad I really like the fantasy, sometimes dark twits to her stories. Done bought the third one in this series.

NEW ORLEANS NIGHTS: JEFF'S WAY by Sara York 2  STARS I usually love Sara Yorks stories this one I didn't like so much it has a darker tone to it and left me feeling like I need a fun story  to pull me outta a funk you know? It's a sadder story that didn't work for me.

Enjoy ; ) and Happy reading!!!
