Necessity's Door by Fiona Glass

Necessity's Door
Being an openly-gay detective in Birmingham comes with its share of problems. For one, the pay is awful. For another, Jake always gets stuck with the crappy undercover jobs. Like posing as a prostitute to catch the new crime boss in town—a man notorious for rough sex with pretty young rentboys.

Jake’s latest op is fraught with difficulties, all of them men. Like his partner, Mac, who he’s secretly fancied for months. And his new client, Graham, who he keeps sleeping with for reasons far beyond maintaining his cover. And of course there’s the target, Frank Warren, who’s much harder to lure than anyone had anticipated.

The longer the job drags on, the tougher it gets for Jake to juggle his own needs with those of the job. They may be closing in on Warren, but Jake’s heart—and his sense of right and wrong—are slipping through his fingers. Mac is there to back him up, but is he really the man Jake needs? Tough to know among all those lies Jake's been telling himself and everyone else

I spent most of this book thinking WTF? I felt like Jake needed a smack to his head multiple times and it ending feeling unfinished for me. The action part of this story is just not there, the case that has Jake going undercover, is like an after thought. And having to sleep with his mark left me feeling grossed out, I think Jake needed to get his priorities straight. He's a cop yet he breaks some pretty serious laws not to solve the case mind you but for his own personal reasons. I don't recommend.

Places In Time (Time Is Eternity) by Cardeno C

Places In Time
Actor Ethan Baker was voted the “Sexiest Man Alive” two times, but that doesn’t stop his girlfriend from breaking up with him. As he has for years, Ethan turns to Jude Harrison, his best friend and the one “forever” person in his life. What should have been a short trip to reach Jude turns into an unexpectedly long journey when a mysterious woman forces Ethan to visit places in time he’d long forgotten. Suddenly Ethan sees Jude’s actions over the years from a different perspective, but it’s his own reaction that’s the biggest surprise.

I liked this one in the Time is Eternity books, it had a "It's a Wonderful Life"  feel to it but it was well thought out and I felt I got a good sense of the characters Jude more that Ethan, I kinda didn't like Ethan he seemed full of himself and clueless at the same time. Jude on the other hand was an sweet character who would do anything for the one he loves. It's a sweet, wake up call for Ethan that I really enjoyed reading. I recommend.

This is a very short short, so I will be honest and say we don't really get to know the characters well at all and I didn't feel the chemistry between the MC's . Though it's an interesting concept of a storyline, I was lost through most of it.  It didn't really come together for me till the end, then it still left me with questions. I will still recommend since it is a very short story it was interesting to read.

Dreaming in Color by Cameron Dane

Dreaming in Color
The sight of the red door saves Colin Baxter in his dream, but very quickly a man appears and the dream becomes a thing of raw sexual need with a person Colin can’t identify. He just knows the man needs him, and Colin aches to find and heal his lover…even if the man doesn’t really exist.

Marek Donovan just wants to be left alone to lick his wounds and recover from a terrible loss. The rundown house in Fiji suits his minimal needs just fine. He doesn’t want to face the world again, and on a small, secluded island figures he’s safe from everyone and everything. Particularly guilt from his past.

Dreams of this nameless man and his house plague Colin for two years, but he’s come to care about his phantom lover so deeply he doesn’t want them to end. Then Colin visits Fiji and comes face-to-face with the house from his visions, prompting him to believe these dreams just might be his destiny.

Colin knocks on the door, determined to find answers. What he finds is a man he already knows

                                                                         4.5 STARS

I really liked this book, but I honestly got lost in the paranormal of the house in it too. This book has a great relationship with enough stress & angst too make it a good book, but the whole house drawing Colin there and feeling alive kinda creeped me out. I've had this book in my to-reads for awhile but wanted something deep & intense to read, so out it came.

I have to say I felt the chemistry and intensity in these characters right off the bat, Marek & Colin are a great couple who have serious potential to be an awesome couple. I even get that Marek's secrets could potentially cause some serious damage to this new found relationship. But I honestly felt that he had enough heartache that this secret was too much, how this guy survived all the guilt and heartbreak that he has made me love this character to the extreme. Colin I liked just as well, I mean what he went through as a teen is horrific and only a person of such strong character could survive that and be as strong willed as Colin he is a character I applaud for strength alone.

I recommend it does have some serious angst, and the house with the creepy factor but it is a beautiful love story, my favorite part is the last email from Marek by the time I got to that point I have to say the last email pushed right over into I wanna read this story again & again.

Dirty Kisses by Sean Michael

Dirty Kisses
Bussy, the manager of a gay ski resort, is into only twinks. At least that's what he has always believed, until one evening after he gets dumped by his latest boyfriend, he notices Quint, the hot bartender.

Quint is the complete opposite of a twink. In fact, he's even taller than Bussy and definitely well-built. Could the shy bartender be exactly what Bussy's been looking for all along?

                                                                      4.5 STARS

For a short story this one was awesome, not only did I get to read some seriously HOT sex scenes but I also learned how to make a new drink I now LOVE dirty kisses LOL I recommend it's a fun sexy short story but I loved it. Wouldn't mind more of this couple.

Just a side note I love reading the author's bio in the back of books, I don't know why I just do and I gotta say Sean Michael has one of the funniest and most excellent ones I have ever read, yes it does make me want to buy more books from him mainly because I think a sense of humor is a must if you are a writer. I personally am very sarcastic and love to goof off and laugh, so some of my favorite authors have to have a sense of humor that will come through in their books. If anything now I want to read more of this hilarious author's imagination come to life.

No Rest for the Wicked (Adam & Peter #2) by A.M. Riley

No Rest for the Wicked (Adam & Peter, #2)
Adam has gone through a lot of changes in the past year, a new taste for 'O' neg blood and allergy to sunlight being the least of them. Maybe it's the cute young grad student who has been sniffing around Adam's longtime sex partner, Peter. Or maybe immortality gives a man a little too much time to think. But Adam's feeling motivated to change a few of his ways. If he could just get Peter to stop working long enough to notice.

Peter has his own issues with dating a dead man. And after over a decade of being in love with a commitment-phobe, he's finding it hard to believe that Adam isn't sampling the goods of the hot young vampire he works with.

They manage their issues the way they always have. By not talking about them...until a high profile computer software genius turns up drained in Hollywood, revealing a new vampire gang in Los Angeles, and all of their troubles come to a head. There's no rest for the wicked.

Rarely will I love a sequel as much if not better than the first, this is one of those rare books. I absolutely love this couple Adam & Peter are such an odd, but interesting pair they have some amazing chemistry which is always apparent even from the first book. Both books are from Adam's pov but you really get a sense of what's going through Peter's head too.

Adam is realizing that he loves Peter but he's on the verge of losing him, it takes some serious issues and Peter almost dying to see maybe he's not the best vampire for Peter. Although Peter has some different ideas about that. I'm telling you the intense Chemistry between these two is some of the best I've read. I'm impressed with the writing and storyline, I felt it was that good.

I have to admit I was a little scared at the end that it wouldn't end the way I so hoped it would, and it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book.  If you want a fun interesting and different take on the vampire storyline this book is for you, I will now be looking for A.M. Riley books. I recommend cause this book ROCKS!

By Hand (Pushing the Envelope #9) by Kim Dare

By Hand (Pushing the Envelope, #9)
When Scott turns up at Joe’s home, he doesn’t know what to expect. And from the moment Joe opens the door stark naked, Scott’s thrown off balance.

“Show me what you really like,” seemed like such a simple, innocent request.

But, with the help of a huge TV screen, leather-clad visual aids, and some carefully laid out preparations, Joe’s about to fulfill that request in ways Scott never imagined.

                                                       4.75 STARS

I absolutely love this series, I know it's not very long stories but Damn it's so intense and it's like I can see them falling love at a nice pace, with added bonus' like extremely scorching sex scenes (which I love BTW). I can't wait for the next one Ms. Dare has got me completely hooked on Joe & Scott that I can't wait to see what's gonna happen next of course I want a happy ending. But the road to get there has been awesome and with each book we learn something about each character that makes me love them both. This one is my favorite so far mainly because what Joe trys to show Scott but I like that Scott doesn't see it yet. I recommend
