Cupid's Arrow by Kris Cook

Cupid's Arrow

Cupid’s Arrow

For Titus Love, matchmaking is much more than a hobby – it was the family business. Being the grandson of Cupid himself, Titus is obsessed with restoring his grandfather’s good work and leaves Olympus to secretly work his magic in Dallas’s hottest new tattoo studio, Love Ink.

Detective Derek Stone doesn’t believe in love. Betrayed by a former lover, Derek views the sentimental emotion as a weakness that almost destroyed him vowing never to give anyone that power over him again.

While investigating a string of grisly murders, Derek discovers one common thread – all of the victims were clients of Love Ink and its owner, Titus Love. But when Derek questions his gorgeous suspect, their passion ignites and Derek discovers that the world is bigger and darker than he ever knew.

Something evil has come to Dallas, and only a hard-boiled detective and the new god of love stand in its way.

This is my first book by this author, and I loved it. There's alot of mythology which was fun, since there's a little bit of everybody thrown in (all the Gods). This story has intense emotions, Hot sex, and some seriously funny moments. I fell for Titus' character immediately he was funny and sweet especially with his family of cousins, so when the 12 decide to start helping humans again, Titus steals his grandfather's(Cupid) arrow. He picks a few humans who need love desperately and tattoos them with special soul mate finding ink.

Detective Derek on the other hand, is investigating the murder of a man who had one of Titus' special tattoos, although Derek has a secret too he can see and sense things that others can't. He a descendant of an oracle, though he doesn't know it yet. Derek's also jaded when it comes to love but he has reasons for which I understood. Titus and the other Demi-Gods are on a mission, and their are also humans who want to steal the Gods power's and make it dangerous for the Demigods here on earth. Which is involved in these murders of the guys with Titus' special tattoos.

This story I believe is the start to a series (I hope) I really enjoyed it. The edge of your seat action, learning that Gods exist, finding your soul mate and learning to trust in love again make this book a great read and added to my gotta read more to this series list. I highly Recommend
